LARI DON has spent most of her life in Scotland. She is a writer and storyteller who spends much of her time working with schools and festivals throughout Scotland. She has had eight books published, including the First Aid for Fairies trilogy, Tam O'Shanter, The Mountain's Blood and Rocking Horse War. Lari lives in Leith, Edinburgh, with her two children, and two cats called Winnie and Tam Linn. CATE JAMES comes originally from Sheffield, but went to school in Edinburgh and studied at Edinburgh Art College, where she now teaches. She works in line and wash, and acrylics. Breaking the Spell is her first children's book. Cate lives in Edinburgh.
