Garton the Ghastly, the goblin king, is furious with the fairies for foiling his wicked plans for diamond mines and central heating, and plots revenge. Using the stolen Plant Spell Book, and a stolen wand from a flower fairy, he makes a spell to cause all the fairies to lose their voices.
