Native Plants Hassans Walls Reserve Lithgow features descriptions and photographs of 490 native plants growing on the Reserve and in the Lithgow surrounding areas. It lists a further 82 found on the Reserve. In addition, a sample of 40 fungi and lichen are featured. The book lists both the scientific name and common names where known. It is written in plain English to enable as many people as possible to identify the plants. It does not aim to be a scientific or technical book. The book is divided into sections on: Wildflowers; Orchids; Grasses, Rushes & Sedges; Eucalypts; Ferns; Liverworts & Mosses; Fungi & Lichen. Hassans Walls Reserve is adjacent to the town of Lithgow in NSW Australia. It is on the western boundary of the Blue Mountains World Heritage area. The Reserve is some 770 hectares with altitude ranging from 960m to 1160m. The book celebrates the biodiversity of the environmentally significant reserve and it is a valuable resource for the study of native plants around Lithgow, in the Upper Blue Mountains and on the Newnes Plateau in New South Wales.The book has 192 pages plus cover with over 1000 colour photographs. The book is spiral bound for ease of use in the field and printed on quality gloss art paper.
