Jean Ure was born and brought up in the suburbs of London. She wrote her first novel at only 16 years old and has been writing ever since. She had a series of jobs before enrolling to study drama at the Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art where she would meet her future husband. Jean enjoys writing books for young girls that deal with real issues in a warm and insightful way that allows even the most reluctant reader to engage. She lives outside of London.
